1. Requirements
You need a Windows Hosting that could provide everything required to run BlogEngine, including:
- Windows Server hosting
- IIS
- ASP.NET 4.5 or later
- File management or FTP access
- Permission to configure write access for application folders
No separate database installation is required.
2. Download
Download BlogEngine version 3.3.8 and extract the contents of the ZIP file on your computer.
Upload all the extracted files and folders to the root directory of your website using your hosting provider's file manager or FTP.
Download Version 3.3.83. Write Permissions
BlogEngine requires write access to the App_Data and Custom folders.
If you manage your own Windows Server, make sure the identity used by the IIS Application Pool has permission to create and modify files in these folders.
If you are using shared hosting, your hosting provider may configure these permissions automatically. If BlogEngine reports an access or permission error, contact your hosting provider and ask them to enable write access for the
App_Data and Custom folders.
